Meet Jaklyn Royal

The art of dance. The heart of teaching.

Professional ballroom dancer. Studio owner. Choreographer. Coach.

For Jaklyn, ballroom dance has always been about more than movement. It's about discipline and freedom, precision and expression, partnership and individuality — and the moment when movement begins to feel like something more.

A Life Shaped by Dance

Ballroom Has Never Been Just a Profession

It has been a lifelong passion — and a family one.

Born into a family of professional ballroom dancers, Jaklyn Royal began her dance journey at the age of three and entered the competitive ballroom world at just six years old.

An entrepreneur since 21, she opened her first dance studio that year and owned it for seven years. Her career then took her to New York City, where she managed one of the nation's leading Fred Astaire Dance Studios while continuing to compete at an elite international level.

She subsequently established her own successful ballroom dance studio in Denver's Cherry Creek neighborhood, operating it for eight years before selling the business. Now based in the Longmont–Boulder area, Jaklyn brings a lifetime of experience, artistry and personalized instruction to clients seeking something beyond the ordinary dance lesson.
